The organizing commitee of the "ArchiCAD Expo & Awards for Southern California" decided to open the competition to ArchiCAD users worldwide.

Since this is a local effort (albeit with sponsorship and support from Graphisoft,
Objects Online and the GDL Alliance), we will structure this as follows:

1) Entries from outside of Southern California are welcome, and will be considered
in a separate category grouping. We may in fact choose (depending on the number of
entries from inside and from outside) to give merchandise awards (add-ons,
libraries, etc.) only to Southern CA entrants. Awards of Excellence and Honorable
Mentions can certainly be given to users from outside the area, and all entries will
be featured at the exposition at SCI-Arc, and on our website.

2) We may choose to limit the number of entries to a manageable number, perhaps 15
from outside the area, to ensure that the judges are not overwhelmed. This may not
be an issue, depending on the enthusiasm or interest from outside. Please contact us
by e-mail if you are interested in submitting an entry; your date of contact will be
used if we need to cut off entries.

3) We are particularly interested in more entries in our new categories: Custom GDL
Objects, and Project Publisher useage, as well as our other Special Categories:
short essays on "The ArchiCAD Virtual Building Working Process" or "Architectural
Practice as an Information Delivery System". No limit will be placed on these
entries, as they will enrich our understanding of how ArchiCAD can uniquely impact
and delineate the new methods of working with our computer tools.

All questions can be directed to me via e-mail. I welcome you to visit the Awards
website http://www.archicad-la.com for clarification of many of your questions.

Eric Bobrow
