The GDL Allliance is moving forward.  We have had overwhelming support over the last few months and met our first round funding goals. We are accelerating the schedule of nominations and elections for The Board of Directors and are asking all of our founding and charter members to send nominations for The GDL Alliance Board of Directors.

[1] Call for Nominations

We are asking our Founding and Charter members of The GDL Alliance to nominate people to The GDL Alliance Board of Directors.

1. Only Founding Members and Charter Members may place nominations
2. Nominees do not have to be current GDL Alliance members. (There are some qualified GDLers out there who have yet to join The Alliance.)
3. Each member may nominate from one to 13 people.
4. The nomination process is open from now until Nov. 7, 2000
5. From Nov. 8 – Nov. 14, 2000 we will have an online election to choose the final 13 people that will be on the board.
6. Election results will be announced on Nov. 15, 2000
7. The first meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors will be in Los Angles, California on Dec. 18, 2000 at 8PM.

As of Oct. 28, 2000 we have a total of:

97 charter members representing 23 countries

Of the 97 Charter members 27 are founding members who have pledged monetary support.

Accounting Information:
$14,370 in Pledges
$12,388 Received as checks or wire transfers

For those who have not sent your checks in yet please do so soon, we are counting on you.  Keep recruiting and promoting for new sponsors and members.

Membership has been increasing from around the world and we are attempting to increase our international pages. We currently only have English and Japanese.

We are looking for volunteers to translate into other languages.
