www.ArchiContest.com launched a 3-D OBJECT CONTEST

The contest was running from July 21 to August 31 - 2001. The 3-D CAD objects are in various formats (GDL/.3ds/.dxf/.shd/.pla) and are now available until November 30th 2001 on a CD for $49.95 plus shipping at "www.ArchiContest.com". Check out some comments by the user community.

Net profits will go to the San Diego Chapter, Habitat for Humanity.

The Habitat for Humanity is a volunteer effort that builds homes. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing organization. We welcome all people to join us as we build simple, decent, affordable,houses in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter. Since 1976, Habitat has built more than 100,000 houses in more than 60 countries, including some 30,000 houses across the United States.

Let's work together in a synegistic effort to raise several thousand dollars towards Habitat for Humanity.

The Objects for this Contest Rules: (Please include an ASCII text file describing the object, what inspired it, history of it, etc.)

1) It needs to be an unique object. Objects with local meaning are especially interesting. It can be a person, animal or thing.
2) It needs to be a residential object, found in a home or just outside a home.
3) It can be an indoor object or outdoor ( example patio furniture ), or a Person or a Plant.
4) It needs to be supplied in (TWO) of the following formats (dxf) (3ds) (gsm - GDL)
5) It needs to address high quality yet avoid LARGE large file sizes.
6) If it needs texturing then you need to supply a homemade texture. No 3rd party textures.

The judges will look favorably upon the following:

Small file sizes, Fast Rendering Objects, Objects with good textures, Objects that are Unique to your country, Objects that will be popular - raising more money for Habitat for Humanity, Objects supplied in GDL format or Objects that can be easily converted to GDL Format, Multiple Object Entries, Creative Objects.
